CCTV shows the man wearing a face mask entering the shop armed with a knife on Augusta Parkway in Augustine Heights, near Ipswich, on May 8 at around 5.30am.
“The man threatened the clerk and stole the register,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
Police said the officer complied and was not physically injured.
“The man left the scene on foot through the service entrance and was last seen in the area of Ignatiy Street.”
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man to come forward.
