Dream home contestant Lara was left in tears after a major confrontation with Victorian sisters Taylor and Elle.
The sisters were labeled “competitive and fake” as they appeared to be taking advantage of the naivety of the other contestants and walked away with more than half the labor budget for the final renovation.
Not only did the pair upset Lara and husband Peter, but traditional brothers Rhys and Liam were also upset.

The three couples were tasked with renovating Hannah and Jonny’s dream home in Queensland following Lara and Peter’s win last week in Victoria.
As the winning pair, they were awarded a combined bonus of $10,000 in cash and labor to use “for something special” — a prize that was supposed to give them the upper hand this time around.
When it came time to split this round’s budget, Taeler and Elle took it upon themselves to do the splitting.
The sisters renovated the bathroom and dining room, Lara and Peter were assigned the kitchen and guest bedroom, and Rhys and Liam were assigned the laundry room and living room.
Elle immediately asked Lara and Peter how much they needed.
As renovation rookies, they had no idea, with this being their first kitchen.
Taylor, who is an architect, offered to “help out” and offered $4,500 of the $40,000 total for the kitchen.
Rhys, who is a tiler by trade, said it should cost $9,000.
But Elle cut him off, “We can’t give them $9,000.”
“With the allocation of the budget, we trust and rely on someone who does this for a living (Taylor) and who would want the best for their friends Johnny and Hannah,” Lara said of their trust in the sisters.
However, was this the correct move of the race?
“Our strategy is (that) we have to do the best. We have to be selfish when it comes to money,” Taylor told producers.
Proposing the budget, Elle said: “So what if we do $4,500 for (Lara and Peter) and $8,500 for (Rhys and Liam)?”
As Rhys did the math, he realized what a staggering amount of leftovers the girls would be pocketing for themselves.
“You have $27,000?”
Elle didn’t blink an eye and said, “Yeah, that’s the rest of the $40,000.”
“That is a lot!” Rhys said.
“What the hell!” Lara added.
“Guys, it was a pleasure doing this with you for the first time,” El said smugly.
Lara and Peter seemed stunned by what had just happened, telling producers: “Somehow Taylor and Elle walked away with $27,000 of labor, which is more than half the budget. We walked away with $4,500.
“I can’t believe we let this happen.”
Realizing how unfair budgeting is, Peter went to Elle to get more of the huge budget.
But El shut him down.
An angry Peter told producers: “You’ve got $27,000 sitting there and you’ve already told me you’ve got nothing left and you don’t have a single offer… oh well.”
“I’m mad, they’re f*****.
“They literally left us hanging with $4,500, knowing we wouldn’t be able to finish our space with that money and they could build a palace with their money. Watch this space.
As the work began, the monetary unfairness became clearer by the hour, with Lara stating that it was as if Taylor and Elle had received the Hipages award, not them.
Calling a house meeting, all six contestants gathered to discuss the disastrous situation.
But the conversation reached boiling point, with Lara in tears after the sisters ran away, claiming the “relationship was beyond repair”.
“They left my wife in tears,” Peter told producers.
“I have to stay absolutely away from them because I’ll blow a gasket if I get close to them.
“I don’t want their money, if they’re going to play like that, we’ll make our own way. I will work day and night to complete our spaces!”
